In April a new film will come to the big screen called "Ella Enchanted".
A girl has a curse placed on her where she is forced to be the most obedient girl in the kingdom. She is forced to follow orders by many evil people, and there is even a cool freeze scene from the trailer I saw. A guy tells her to freeze, and she is frozon in mid-air while jumping over something.
To see the trailer with the freeze scene go here:

I'm willing to bet that is the only freeze seen, but the question is how long will it last? Do they show them taking her in frozen form to teh police station or release her there. Surely, you have to say unfreeze to turn her back and since the police don't know her curse..............

I don't think it makes sense. There is nothing to indicate that the curse can overcome the laws of physics, that it's just in her head. I could understand her body becoming instantly stiff, but she should tumble and roll in pose. Now that, I would go see. I'm getting sick of lame CGI/video freezes. Go look at a photograph, if that's what you want.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. If she were being influenced by hypnosis, it wouldn't make sense, but she's under the influence of a magick enchantment.
First, she has to do whatever anyone tells her to do.
Second, we see each time she's commanded a flurry of magick sparkles around her, indicating that she is essentially imbued with magick that activates each time she is commanded, which not only forces her to obey, but clearly makes it *possible* for her to obey.
This is evidenced when she is commanded to "kick his butt" and she suddenly has martial arts skills enabling her to obey.
Given that, it makes perfect sense that if someone commanded her to freeze then the magick would hold her not only immobile but in the place/position she was at the moment of the command. (One could argue that there was nothing in the command to say she remain in mid-air, but then there was nothing to say she shouldn't, and I would imagine that the enchantment would allow her to follow the safer option if there *is* an option in any command.)
As for CGI/Bullet Time freezes, I respect your opinion, but I have nothing against them... certainly not to accomplish a freeze like this. It's FAR better than a video freeze (which always looks fake to some degree). Sure, a live freeze is usually better, but for an action freeze, you can't accomplish the in-motion hair and clothing without CGI. (Well, in some instances you COULD, but it would be quite difficult and possibly not look very good).

BTW I forgot to mention that this movie is based on a book, so if anyone wants to read the book before the movie is released, you can find the book @ Amazon.Com.
Just thought you would like to know.

I just saw an extra long trailer for this movie last night. I cant help but to be a little turned on by this.
Oh come on...... A cute girl who has to do anything you say? How long would you last without freezing her?
The whole thing has way too much of an MC appeal to it.
Just think of the possibilities!

I still will wait until DVD since it will be one quick freeze scene. The rest of the movie will be painful no doubt. Don't bother reading the book, there are no freezes in it. If you put "Ella Enchanted, freeze" in google, you can see many people that loved the book are slamming the freeze scene in the movie. Damn them........
