Emma By Dosman!

For an hour a day, everyday, Emma was nothing more then a statue with blinking eyes, and sometimes she didn't even do that.

During that time, she had no movement, no wiggling, no shaking, no swaying, and, no thinking. During an hour, everyday, she put her self into a very deep sleep. The kind of sleep that makes doctors think people are unconscious. Years of meditation, yoga, and relaxing exercises allowed her to do this to herself. Years of practice had paid off. She had the ability to make her body feel stiff, or rigid, or relaxed, or poseable to the outside world. During this time she was rarely aware of what was happening to, or around her. Her mind drifted off, sometimes to thoughts about the day's work, sometimes to thoughts about her life, but after a few minutes her mind always became very blank. She wouldn't think about anything. It was never a conscious effort to have it occur, it just began to, after being in the meditative state for more then a few moments.

After the hour has passed, in what seemed like nothing more then a few minutes to the motionless girl, she would spring out of her meditative state.

It was a time limit that she had learned to program herself with years ago after a few unfortunate accidents. She hoped that she would never be stuck in a pose for 6 hours again, like had happened that day. It wouldn't have been so bad, but she had not yet trained herself to block out the world at the point in her training. She had been painfully forced to watch every minute pass with her eyes open and mind clear, unable to signal for assistance, or do anything to change her predicament.

On this particular day, Emma was standing in for a mannequin at a friend's clothing store. She had been told repeatedly in the past few years, that she was the best living mannequin model that anyone had ever seen. She was always happy to hear such comments, but, it came so easily to her, that she almost felt like she was showing up the girls who had to work so hard to stay still. But, today she was posed, all by herself, in a window in a small Main Street store. She loved taking these jobs because she always got to wear very nice clothes, which she often kept as payment. They always paid for her to go to fancy salons to have her hair and make up done professionally, to make her look more like a display dummy.

It was really insignificant what she looked like, or how she felt about it anyway. She only ever remembered, or was aware of the first few minutes, after which she would begin to drift off, and be as unaware as any of the fiberglass mannequins she was emulating.

A couple times during the time standing in the window, the shop workers would come over and change her pose. They always got such a kick out of it, and she never minded. She knew that since she was standing in a window in public view that she would never be put in an offensive pose. Again, it was irrelevant, as she was unaware of any poses she was put in besides the initial one.

And, no matter what was done to her once she began her meditative state, an hour after feeling it start, it released her. She would suddenly become completely aware of her surroundings, her pose, her stare, what parts of her body ached, and her bladder. It only took a few more minutes for her to regain the ability to move, and after getting something to wet her throat, to speak again.

It was always an interesting site when she began to take control again. The people who had been watching her, in her motionless state, suddenly see her move, and are totally shocked. She loved seeing the looks on their faces when she jumps to life, which usually causes them to jump a little as well.

Emma is happy when she picks up her watch and notices the time. It's 6pm, time for the shop to close. That means she won't have to get back up there and do it all again. She had already been doing it all day, since 8am when the shop opened. Each time after she was released she had only taken a quick break before getting back up there and starting again.

Emma runs into the changing room, dons her street clothes, collects her bounty from the shop manager, and goes home to do something that requires some movement.

The End
