A senior student from the Magnet School and J.W. Nixon balances her studies with a unique modeling experience.
Pamela San Miguel spends weekends as a mannequin model.
This requires her to stand still at different stores showing fashion clothes.
So far she has modeled at two Mall del Norte stores, Gadzook and Joe Brand. She started mannequin modeling this January.
San Miguel and other models stand inside display cases, where mall shoppers can see them, but are protected from the public.
"I love to model fashion clothes because I hope that one day I will get a career in modeling," San Miguel said.
She spends 4-6 hours modeling on weekends. San Miguel said she gets paid by getting discounts on clothes from the stores.
She said one of her sister's friends and the owner of a store offered her a position modeling
Her funniest incident so far involves a time when she was modeling at Gadzook. One guy passed with a sign saying, "Be My Valentine." She said she thought it was someone from the store and started laughing. After she finished, she went looking for the employee, and found out that it wasn't anyone from the store.
