Subject: Movie 'CQ' has some freezes

Just got back from seeing the film 'CQ' by Roman Coppola. This is the story of a young film editor who gets his big chance to direct the ending of a space opera loosely patterned on the 60's "Barbarella". Like that film, this one has a gorgeous girl (Angela Lindvall) who runs around in sexy clothes and frequently takes them off.
Towards the end of the film the director has a daydream where he uses fancy 'mcGuffin' (a hoky looking gun) to freeze everyone on the set, because that's what he decided this weapon can do.
We see many cast & crew motionless (all live freezes) along with the lovely star, though she only briefly from the back with a frozen reflection of her face in a mirror looking very mannequin-like. The close up snaps back to reality. Shucks!
The gun doesn't work on her in the film for an interesting reason, but we see a couple of other (male) characters get zapped. It's a decent effect, but made to looke cheesy for the film.
This picture is in limited release, so catch it at your local art theatre or wait for the DVD...
