Subject: Writers and aspiring writers: Let's make a pact!
Message:
Since this was posted by me just before the move to the new board I was afraid this post would be lost before enough people read or responded to it (besides dmuk). So here it is again:
It's a bit of a long shot but I thought what the hell? Might be fun.
Here's what I was thinking. Anyone who intends to write (or might consider writing) a script for a play, or movie, or a TV show episode, or story that might possibly be adapted for any of the above, what say we make a pact to include a good freeze sequence in said work?
Even if the story/screenplay/whatever isn't of the sci-fi/fantasy genre, there's still a few ways this could work. It could be in some strange dream sequence, or something like on "Saved by the Bell" where the protagonist somehow freezes everyone onscreen so he/she can talk to the audience, or where the entire cast freezes and some omniscient character comes on to say something. And of course anyone who's seen a lot of plays knows there's some where people on stage sometimes freeze in a tableau.
And if any non-frozen characters stand close to any attractive females at the time (or even manipulate them), well then so much the better.
Okay, it's a long shot (like as in winning the lottery and then getting struck by lightning while indoors!), but I just thought it would be a fun little pact to make.
